1. Message of the Day

Quiet Order/ Raging Clutter

Orderliness is a state of dignity and beauty.
If you create a clear and shining space, it maintains itself easily with only a dusting or shining on occasion from you.

An area of messiness, on the other hand, is rowdy.
Once a clutter pile begins, it starts to spiral down into more disorder and mess. A pile doesn't
simply sit there doing nothing. It attracts dirt, dust, mold, insects with all they bring, and occasionally vermin. Worst of all, junk attracts more junk. People feel free to add other debris
to the top of a messy pile until the mess gets thoroughly away from us.

The lesson to be learned: A messy pile is a dangerous thing and can rage wildly out of control. Avoid it at all costs.

Court clear surfaces. They are the key to serenity and order in your home.

2. Did you know?

For your information. If you are interested, in a professional organizer who likes to work with folks who struggle with organizing, check out the web site for the Institute for Challenging Disorganization http://www.challengingdisorganization.org/

For a referral to a professional organizer in your area go to http://www.napo.net which is the website for the National Association of Professional Organizers.

3. Habit of the Day

Make your bed every day, every day, every day.
No more tangled, messy sheets, pillows, and covers casting an ugly pall over the whole house. Instead, you will have a beautiful neat aura emanating from the bedroom. Don't make it perfect. Just pull it up more or less neatly.

4. Family Reminder of the Day

In our family, we move the garbage cans out of sight when they are emptied at the curb (or however your area does it.)

In our family, we hang up the towels neatly after bathing.

5. Quote of the Day

Efficiency and convenience alone don't bring joy; beauty is the mysterious element.

ALTERNATE TO-DO LIST

One thing I bought to help me was a big white board. I put it in the kitchen where I can see it as soon as I get into the house. I write on it all the things that need to be done that day or the next. It makes me feel I DID something when I can erase an item. And it makes me realize I need to take it serious, when I have to leave an item for the next day (which DOES happen still too often). For me this works better than the TO DO list book, because it stares me in the face all
day long. D
