CHOOSE MORE, NOT LESS
Sure we know we need to get rid of a lot of stuff. But letting go of things can make us feel deprived, sad, or angry.
Shift your vision from what you are losing and instead focus on what you are getting. Tell yourself,
I am getting...
...more convenience because the house works better with less in it
...more fun because I can have people come into the house
...more harmony because the house is more spacious and clear
...more time because I can find what I need.
In this case, LESS in the house and life is definitely MORE in quality of life.

FOLLOW THE RULE OF TEN (THROW AWAY THINGS)
Gather ten things to throw away.
CHOOSE MORE, NOT LESS
Sure we know we need to get rid of a lot of stuff. But letting go of things can make us feel deprived, sad, or angry.

Get them in the trash immediately.
Sometimes we give away things but today we are asked to just toss them out. Surely there are
ten things that can hit the trash can today. If you can't do ten, then just do one or two.

In our family, we strive to complete projects and clean up expeditiously.
In our family, the person who uses the last sheet of toilet paper puts a new roll on the roller

Around here, the deal is "If it bothers you, do something about it", but it applies to everybody.
Have you tried what my friend Kim did? She took up putting everything that belonged to someone in on their desk or dresser - and that included the trash. When they asked what it was doing there, she smiled angelically and said "I was going to throw it out, but I thought you might need it." Let's just say it didn't take very long to get the message across.(g)
