1. Message of the Day

Image result for organized thinking Organized House, Organized Mind?

Is it true that if you organize your surroundings, your mind will become more organized? In some respects, yes. Here's how:

When your house or office is more organized

  • you become calmer and less scattered because you are less stressed by adrenaline.
  • your more organized belongings make it possible for you to move forward more easily with your projects and puts your mind under less pressure.
  • eventually you will get more organizational confidence and be willing to take on projects which will help you develop more skills.
  • you will apply learned organizing skills successfully to more and more areas of your life and say to yourself, Oh, that's how those organized people have been doing it all along!
What power!

Don't expect to become a total organizational genius as you get your house under control. Do expect to become much more productive with less effort. And that ain't half bad.

3. Habit of the Day

STOW AS YOU GO!

AVOID CLUTTER - Don't pick it up later; put it up now.

This is probably the most powerful habit of all. It is what keeps your organized friends neat without seeming to have to work at it.

4. Family Reminder of the Day

In our family, we put dishes into the dishwasher, not the sink.

In our family, we take responsibility for completing the chores assigned to us.

5. Quote of the Day

"The key is not to prioritize what's on your

schedule, but to schedule your priorities."

Stephan R. Covey

6. Question of The Day

Does your disorganized lifestyle interfere with your social or family life? Do you isolate yourself because of the clutter? If the clutter were gone, what would do you different from now to connect to people?.

PROGRESS AND PLANS!

I'm feeling so great about my participation in this group! I'm making so much progress and am so proud of myself!

My DH and I have been having breakfast together every morning since I'm getting up before my family. Our 2 yr. old DD still sleeps late, so that's our "couple time" and it makes all the difference.

I fix him a "good" (read fattening) breakfast and I eat my healthy cereal; we do our devotion from our marriage-devotional bible and read several chapters together; we go over what we have scheduled for our day (my chores and errands, and his workload).

I am so happy with the progress of my home as well. The kitchen looks fabulous and I haven't had a single dirty dish in my sink in over a week! They go straight into the dishwasher..it's so easy..why has it taken me so long to figure out?

Yesterday, I spent 15 minutes in mine and DD's shared walk-in closet. It was by far the worst room in the house.

I started by organizing the shoes, DD's on her side and mine on my side. Then I picked up all of the clothes off of the floor and put them in the dirty laundry which, by the way I finished before 8 o'clock this morning.

I only spent 15 minutes in there, but it already looks presentable!

I'm so excited about getting my entire house decluttered and peaceful for the first time ever! I might treat myself to my favorite lunch today, Japanese.

Hope my progress motivates you all. If I can do it, anyone can!

(Thanks to Rachel W.)

MESSIES ANONYMOUS SLOGAN

Please memorize this slogan and post it on your wall.

The secret to success is making
very small, yet very consistent, changes.

Or to make it short; Baby steps, baby steps in the right direction.

Never underestimate the inevitability of gradualness.
