1. Message of the Day

PASSION POINT (or Inspiration Point)

Mundane cleaning, dusting, and making things neater is good, but not good enough for many of us who find organizing difficult and, let's face it, boring.

Passion is what fuels our actions toward order. Mostly that takes the form of a passion for beauty. Have a beautiful spot in your house, something that makes your heart leap with joy when you see it -- or at least smile with satisfaction.

The dining table is a good choice since it is the largest piece of furniture in the public part of the house. Perhaps the bed, beautifully decorated and regularly made, will jump start you into the day. Or maybe a coffee table. Or even the kitchen counter.

Start with one spot and create more as you can. Their presence will move you forward toward order and a new way of life.

2. Habit of the Day

Commit for just this one day.

FOLLOW THE RULE OF TEN  - THROW-AWAY THINGS

Gather ten things to throw away even if they are little things. Get them in the trash immediately.
------------------------------

3. Family Reminder of the Day

Pick one of these reminders or make one of your own to share with your family each day.

In our family, we don't drop our things when we come in the door. We take them and put them where they belong.

In our family, we put dirty clothes into the hamper as soon as we take them off.
-------------------------------

4. New Quote of the Day

"Your house is your larger self."

The house is not just bricks and mortar, furniture and personal items. Your psyche, as a woman, is intrinsically connected to the condition of the house.

The problem is that a messy house does not properly reflect our better qualities. Instead it reflects our fears, bad habits, and misplaced ideas.

What would your house look like if it reflected you in the way you want it to?
------------------------------

5. Question of the Day

Name four or five things you, and only you, are able to do around the house. Name four or five things you are doing now which are inappropriate for you because others can take them over with training. Who will you begin to train, and when?

6. From the Trenches

This is my first posting and I apologize ahead of time for its length. M.A. changed my home in a few short weeks. I've been a Messie all my life and paper/clutter is my enemy. Although I cleaned the house, it always seemed to get Messie just as soon as I was done. So with the Organizer Lady tips the last 6 weeks and finding a way to use it my family, I came up with a schedule which I post by the phone and try to follow diligently every day. It has made a HUGE difference in our home and in my state of mind. My mom is a Cleanie and her methods never worked for me. But my method now works for us. I spend about an hour a day doing my chores. My husband is a Cleanie (for his own stuff –clothes & office) and my kids are 1 & 3. I am a SAHM and busy outside the home everyday with my kids. I also keep a neat bulletin board posted with my daily to-do list instead of a book. It has worked wonders for those to-do piles.

(Thanks to a beginning Messie)

7. More Info

This is a simple program. We stick with the basics as they are presented in these messages. Keep reading. Keep adding one part of the program at a time.

Repetition is important. Forward to friends if desired but not to other sites. Read this whole posting or only what you can take in today, then delete it.

Don't forget the daily reminders!!! Do you have a copy posted somewhere?

MESSIES ANONYMOUS SLOGAN

Please memorize this slogan and post it on your wall.

The secret to success is making very small, yet very consistent, changes.

Or to make it short; Baby steps, baby steps in the right direction.

Never underestimate the inevitability of gradualness.
