1. Message of the Day
No Silver Bullet
When the Burger King Corporation completed a bit of reorganization in 2002, they hired a new CEO and a new president as well to try to make an improvement. We can learn from what they said about how to improve.
The then CEO Brad Blum said, "We are not looking for a quick hit. There are no silver bullets here." He goes on to say they are going to stick to the basics. For Burger King that means to focus on three things: making sure the restaurants are clean; serving hot, good tasting food; and filling orders quickly and accurately.
It's true. Some problems can only be solved by sustained focus on a few important things. "It comes down to great execution of the basics, day after day, year after year," said then new president, Bob Nilsen. "That's what leads to
greatness."
Gurus from every discipline say the same thing. Success follows everyone who finds the few important keys that apply to their area of concern and works those few things to death.
That is what The Organizer Lady is all about. It focuses on a few basics such as changing the ways we think and feel about the things in our lives, changing our habits, and applying basic organizing principles. If we do that, we will succeed.
It is as simple as that.
Reminds me of our saying,
"Change won't come in a day, but it must come daily."

7. From the Trenches
BURGLARS
I was burglarized and the cops thought the burglars had made the mess and kept sympathizing with me for the disaster created by the burglars. Ha! The burglars took the jewelry and left. They didn't make any mess at all.
