INTERESTING STORY
About a week ago, I told y'all that I'd established a Rubbermaid container in the garage in which to chuck any stray personal items that the kids leave lying around. I do this when I get home from work late at night after they're in bed, so I figure it's fair.
Well so far, so good! It is working! DSS usually doesn't leave much out, but DSD did. Two days after I implemented the plan, she couldn't find her house keys and took the spare. Well the spare is for emergencies only, so guess who was in hot water? My DBF told her No TV 'til she found her key.
She TORE UP her room looking for that thing for maybe two hours! Then DBF goes, "Did you leave it out when you went to bed? 'Cause if so, I'll bet Dee put it in the dumpster in the garage." She goes, "Dee wouldn't do that!" He said, "I KNOW you read the notice she posted 'cause you initialed the bottom saying you understood! If she said she'd do it, she will!" So she looked and sure enough, there was her entire purse with her key inside, several hair bands, a couple sweatshirts, some earrings, and the list goes on.
I think my next step will be emptying that dumpster into the real trash once a week 'cause she left everything else in there! D'oh! :-D But at least her junk's not lying all over the house! :-p
Note - For help with abbreviations like DSD (dear step daughter) goggle "internet abbreviations". Lots of free dictionaries available.
