1. Message of the Day

      THREE PARTS
Insects have three parts, head, thorax, and abdomen.
Image result for insect sections Like an insect, each job has three parts,

  •  beginning (getting ready)
  •  the job itself (doing the job)
  •  and the end (cleanup).

These are not three different jobs. They
are aspects of one job. Until all three parts are completed, that one job is not done.

The laundry is not finished until it is put in the drawers or closet. The dishes are not done until they are put up. The house is not cleaned until the cleaning equipment is returned. You have not completed grocery shopping until the groceries are put away. You have not properly come into the house until your coat is hung up and your packages are properly stowed.

Complete each job before you leave it.

3. Habit of the Day

AVOID CLUTTER

Don't pick it up later; put it up NOW.

(You might want to put this one on a card and post it around the house.)
----------------------------

4. Family Reminder of the Day

In our family, we strive to complete projects and clean up expeditiously.

In our family, the person who uses the last sheet of toilet paper puts a new roll on the roller.
----------------------------

5. Quote of the Day

"The chief cause of unhappiness is giving up what you want most for what you want at the moment."

It is worth it to do organizational things that are hard today in order to achieve the way of life we long for in the future. That is the door to happiness.

As the saying goes:
Play now, pay later. Pay now, play later.

6. Question of the Day

Do you have a chronic habit of leaving things out until you return to the project? Choose one area in which you will begin to return items rather than leave them out to be used later.

Tell us by posting on Friends-of-The-Organizer-Lady.

7. From the Trenches

GOOD HABIT

Subject: a habit I need to develop

Last night while the girls were watching a video, every time I left a room, I took things with me to put in their proper place. I had to go get the baby from a nap to feed him, so I grabbed a bunch of his clothes, put them away and then fed him. In about 15 minutes, I had made a HUGE dent in the general mess and it made an amazing difference.

I need to get that to be a real habit. I think that would drastically improve everything around here. After I have it ingrained, maybe I can get it ingrained on the girls.

Thanks, Jennifer

MESSIES ANONYMOUS SLOGAN

Please memorize this slogan and post it on your wall.

The secret to success is making very small, yet very consistent, changes.

Or to make it short; Baby steps, baby steps in the right direction.

Never underestimate the inevitability of gradualness.
