INFORMATION ADDICT and PERFECTIONISM

Too busy? Too many projects and plans? Don't panic.
Choose just three priorities and focus on those till done.
Post them on 3 x 5 cards in a prominent place. Remove
when finished.

2. Message of the Day

INFORMATION ADDICT

Hooked on Information? Information gives some of us a feeling of excitement and power. That's why we love magazines, newspapers, and books. We use time and
energy going through magazines and newspapers, clipping as we go. We use space storing them.

But our addiction doesn't stop with papers. The desire for information drives us to stay on the computer looking up more to learn. Sometimes we print it and then we have to
deal with those printed pages.

In addition, wanting to know more keeps us glued to our television sets. The search for information feels exciting initially. But it begins occupy too much time and space
in our lives. After a while, we realize we are losing control over ourselves and that becomes frightening.

Are you willing to get the information monkey off your back? Would you be seriously willing to lessen or stop pursuing information if it would improve the quality of
your life?

That might mean being willing to let go of the information urge. It might mean giving up magazine articles, taking a whole different approach to computer use, avoiding informative shows on TV. It might mean abandoning the urge to cut out articles on important subjects for yourself or others.

Can you do it? Would it help you if you could?

3. Habit of the Day

FOLLOW THE RULE OF TEN (GIVE-AWAY THINGS)

Gather ten things to give away. Scoot them out of
the house (preferably to the nearest charity) ASAP.
If you can't get them to the charity today, put them
in the car to be dropped off next trip or store them
in the garage to be picked up by the charity.

4. Family Reminder of the Day

Pick one of these reminders or make one of your own to share with your family each day.

In our family, we don't leave things out just because we plan to get back to the project later.

In our family, we wash, dry, fold, and put up our clothes as one continuous job.

5. Quote of the Day

"Bad planning on your part does not automatically
constitute an emergency on my part."

Invaluable sign to post so your family will learn that your time is not without boundaries.

6. Question of the Day

How are you keeping your dream alive? Have you written it down? Do you have a picture from a magazine? Do you have a photo of your house at its best to keep you on
track?

Tell us by posting on Friends-of-The-Organizer-Lady.

7. From the Trenches by Ella

You don't have to do it "right" the first time. Housework done poorly is better than housework not done at all. Only the perfectionist in us "has" to have it done perfectly. Waiting until I could get it done perfectly or right is what got me so far behind in the first place.

(Many thanks to Ella)

MESSIES ANONYMOUS SLOGAN

Please memorize this slogan and post it on your wall.

The secret to success is making very small, yet very consistent, changes.

Or to make it short; Baby steps, baby steps in the right direction.

Never underestimate the inevitability of gradualness.
