1. Message of the Day

You fill in the word that fits. The same word goes into all blanks.

"I'll send this card to my bereaved friend ________"
(Now where did it go?)

"I'll put the folded clothes up ___________"
(When did they get so scattered?)

"I'll put this bill in a pile and pay it __________"
(Why is the water turned off?)

"I'll unload the dishwasher _________"
(What a mess the sink has become!)

"I'll make the bed __________"
(Oh well, it is night now anyway.)

"I'll do a batch of laundry _______."
(Underwear can be worn again -- I think.)

"I'll unpack this suitcase _________"
(What happened to all my clothes?)

And on and on it goes.

If the missing word, LATER, is present in your life, you know how it can confuse your life and clutter your house. When we put things off until LATER we undermine our organizing efforts.

"LATER" now equals CLUTTER now.
Remember the MA battle cry: STOW AS YOU GO!

3. Habit of the Day

Commit for just this one day.

JUST DO IT - Do not wait till you feel like it. Just move your body through the motions like a robot if that is all you can do. Face the fact that some things do not inspire. It is nice to want to. But do not wait for the humor to hit you. Just do it. Set a timer for just ten or fifteen minutes and say to yourself what someone on the group has said,
"Only fifteen minutes, then I can quit."

4. Family Reminder of the Day

Pick one of these reminders or make one of your own to share with your family each day.

In our family, everybody puts their dishes in the washer.

In our family, we leave the bathroom clean after we bathe.

5. Quote of the Day

It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you really are.

e.e. cummings

6. Question of The Day

Look around your house. What is one thing you can upgrade soon because it needs to be done -- and as a symbol of the changes you are making in your house and life?

Tell us by posting on Friends-of-The-Organizer-Lady.

7. From the Trenches

About the bills, I have an accordion type file. It has sections labeled credit cards, utilities, insurance, etc. When I pay a bill, I put the other part in the file. At the end of the year, all of the bills are in one place and I write the year on the outside of the file and put it on a shelf in the basement. We keep 7 years of bills like that. Sometimes things come from insurance and I'm not sure if it's too important. I put it in the file anyway because
it will be stored if I need it.

When I get information on dates when things are happening with the kids, I write it on the calendar and throw away the paper.

9. Extra Help

Are you tired of the never-ending clutter?
The Organizing Mastery program has helped many people get rid of clutter for good.
It is done through a weekly virtual program that’s hands-on and gets results.

Please memorize this slogan and post it on your wall.

The secret to success is making very small, yet very consistent, changes.

Or to make it short; Baby steps, baby steps in the right direction.
