TIME TO PLAY and MOTIVATION SUCCESS PLAN

Image result for music to dance to clipart

Learning to keep house is like learning to dance. If there is no feeling for the music, there is only mechanical movement.

Sorry for not posting for a couple of days, I have been sick.
------------------------------- 1. Message of the Day

YOU NEED TO PLAY

Humans benefit from purposeless, enjoyable activities. Time you spend in play activities will make you healthier and happier. It will refresh you for a more productive and enriched life.

What does this have to do with organizing? A house and life in order enables us to engage in spontaneous fun activities. In turn, fun will strengthen you to go back to work with vigor.

Recent studies spotlight the significant importance of playing throughout the life cycle.

Don't deprive yourself of the broadness of recreational activities because your house is not ready to invite others in for fun activities or because you don't think you can take time from cleaning to go out and have fun.

3. Habit of the Day

FOLLOW THE FOREST CAMPING RULE TODAY

Leave the area as good as you found it, or better.
-----------------------------

4. Family Reminder of the Day

In our family, we hang up the towels neatly after bathing.

In our family, we put what we need the next day by the front door the night before.
-----------------------------

5. Quote of the Day

"There's never time to put it away,

but there is always time to look for it."

Actually it takes LONGER to look for it than to return it to its home where you can find it easily. Take a few more seconds to put it where it belongs. Make sure you group things together with other friends of the same kind.  Put all sewing things together, all rain protection items, all tools, etc. Then you can know where things go. And can be found.

6. Question of the Day

MOTIVATION SUCCESS PLAN

Hi Sisters!
A friend, who is not on this list, and who I write daily, also wants to get her house in order. She is also a quilter, like me. We've both decided that we are spending way too much time on the computer, and we need to spend more
time on our homes. We decided to try something, and for the last two days, we've been doing it, and it has WORKED.

We decided that we cannot get on the computer in the morning until we have cleaned our homes for one hour, wherever it is needed, PLUS worked on at least one of our hated dreaded chores we've been procrastinating on. Once we have done that, we can get online and chat. We usually set some kind of time to recheck with each other - like 11:30 AM or so. THEN, since we have also procrastinated with our sewing time, we decided that we would not get online and chat in the afternoon until we have done some stitching. For me, I am making a quilt, and I decided that I'd get one quilt block per day made, and I just completed it. I took a picture of the block, and when my friend signs on,
I can send her the picture.

This has been very motivating to me. My house looks so much better - I am shocked at how much I can get done in an hour! And I'm not rushing about, just getting stuff done. I'm keeping a log in a little notebook, so I can see
what I've accomplished each day. Like a little diary.

Where I was sitting before, in front of the TV, I have for the last two days, not even had the TV on until my husband got home to turn it on! And, funny thing is, I haven't missed  it one bit!

Hey, a small success!!! I'll take it!!!!!!!
(Thanks, Robin)

MESSIES ANONYMOUS SLOGAN

Please memorize this slogan and post it on your wall.

The secret to success is making very small, yet very consistent, changes.

Or to make it short; Baby steps, baby steps in the right direction.

Never underestimate the inevitability of gradualness.
