1. Message of the Day

Keep Britain Tidy

The "Keep Britain Tidy" campaign launched across the big pond is designed to encourage citizens to stop throwing their candy wrappers from the car or leaving their beer cans in parking lots.

Governments, both here and abroad, agree that neatness is necessary for a good quality of life. All citizens are expected to agree and the few who don't will be fined or at least glared at.

Cigarette smoke and clutter are alike in that they pollute another person's living space. Wherever people live in the same space, cluttering up someone else's visual space is impolite.

Think about how true this is. Change your own behavior or use it as you regard the behavior of others in your house. Maybe you will want to start your own campaign with slogans and signs around the house.

3. Habit of the Day

Put shoes on at the beginning of every day AND put them in the closet at the end of the day. No more tripping over them because they are lying on the floor.

No more limitations like not taking the trash out because "I don't have my shoes on."

No more shoes sitting in the living room or around the house.

No more feeling like you are not really ready to work.

4. Family Reminder of the Day

In our family, we don't drop our things when we come in the door. We take them and put them where they belong.

In our family, we put dirty clothes into the hamper as soon as we take them off.

5. Quote of the Day

"Good fences make good neighbors."

Robert Frost

Set boundaries.
Determine your priorities, make sure you and others in your life respect what you are doing.
Keep those boundaries clear.

6. Question of The Day

What is one success you can "brag" about? We would all be encouraged to hear of it and you will be strengthened if you share it.

7. From the Trenches

It's ok to build "castles in the air". We just have to put a foundation under them. Fifteen minutes at a time. Baby Steps. I'm reclaiming my bedroom. I could have just wished for it or dreamed about how nice it would be. I am actually
doing it! The job looks overwhelming.

I broke it down into fifteen minute jobs. Already I can see it changing. I clear a spot. I clean that spot. I move on to the next spot. Yes, there will be lots of fifteen minute sessions to do. When I'm done, there will be my bedroom, all clear and clean, beautiful, inviting, well worth having and maintaining.
You can do it. Choose a spot. Do fifteen minutes. Just start!

MESSIES ANONYMOUS SLOGAN

Please memorize this slogan and post it on your wall.

The secret to success is making very small, yet very consistent, changes.

Or to make it short; Baby steps, baby steps in the right direction.
