Many Messies have to fight the hindrance of perfectionism thinking.
Instead adopt the "Just do it!" attitude. DONE is better than perfect.

3. Habit of the Day
FOLLOW THE RULE OF TEN .... AMBIVALENCE BOX THINGS
- Gather ten things you know you should get rid of but don't want to.
- Put them in an Ambivalence box which you store out of the way.
- Put a date on the box when you will move it out of the house.
- You may retrieve an item up until that day.
- On that date, however, the box is forever sealed to you and is given away.

4. Family Reminder of the Day
In our family, we put up toys, games, tools, and stuff we are using immediately.
In our family, we don't leave things out just because we plan to get back to the project later.

7. From the Trenches
Big Payoff
I have been taking the baby steps to get my home in order.
I finally got my file cabinet set up and nicely organized. I had so many stacks and boxes of of unopened mail. Earlier this week, I opened one envelope and did not really understand the contents. So I called the number in the letter and gave them the account number of the transaction. (EDITOR'S NOTE: It was not her bank account number. Never give that out over the phone) Since I was
so disorganized and being run over by mail and paper, I missed all the notices about this transaction. The rep on the phone said that he would send me a check for $2,202.92!!!!
See, decluttering pays.
Thank you.

Note from Sandra. This reminds me of the recovering Messie who saved a lot of money because she found her lost false teeth in a cookie jar.
