1. Message of the Day

RELIEF

SCRATCH WHERE IT ITCHES.
Is there some place that is a constant annoyance to you? It may be the black hole of the basement, the trunk of the car, or a table or counter that is full of junk. Stop a minute and reflect. Where is your biggest itch (place of annoyance)? Now decide to spend fifteen minutes each day on that spot until it doesn't itch any more. Plan so your time will be used effectively. Set a timer for fifteen minutes. Go to it!

You may want to post your goals on Friends-of-the-Organizer-Lady.

Or find an M.A. Clutter Buddy on that forum who will cheer you through the project. However you do it, do not let that itch continue. You will feel so good when you scratch the right place and it stops. (Find more information on how to find and be a Clutter Buddy in the files of this group.)

3. Habit of the Day

Commit for just this one day.

EMPTY THE DISHWASHER as soon as possible after
it is finished washing. A dishwasher full of
clean dishes causes the sink to back up with
dirty dishes. Yuck! Bad habit!
---------------------------

4. Family Reminder of the Day

Pick one of these reminders or make one of your
own to share with your family each day.

In our family, we don't boss others. We focus on our own
responsibilities.

In our family, we talk kindly to each other.

In our family, we try to think ahead to solve problems
before they happen.
----------------------------

5. Quote of the Day

No problem can stand the assault of
sustained thinking.

Voltaire

Got a problem? Spend time thinking how you
can solve it. Be creative. Do something different.
It will be solved.
----------------------------

6. Question of the Day

How do you use the family reminders?
Do you remind your family verbally daily?
Do you put up signs around the house?
Do you use the reminders for yourself and change your behavior because of them?

Tell us by posting on Friends-of-The-Organizer-Lady.

7. From the Trenches

NEW HABIT (Thanks to Teresa)

My new habit is to not walk through the house empty-handed. Since my house is full of stuff that needs to be "somewhere else" (another room, laundry, trash, etc.,) I decided that whenever I needed to go from one area to another, I would first look around and take something that belongs there, or goes someplace that is on the way. It is definitely a baby step, but I know that it has saved me some trips, and contributed to the slow but steady clean-up!
Teresa

Teresa's NEW HABIT is another way to apply....STOW AS YOU GO!

MESSIES ANONYMOUS SLOGAN

Please memorize this slogan and post it on your wall.

The secret to success is making very small, yet
very consistent, changes.

Or to make it short; Baby steps, baby steps in the
right direction.

Never underestimate the inevitability of gradualness.
